Obituary for Wayne Marsch

Wayne Joseph Marsch, Leavenworth, passed away unexpectedly on March 24, 2022 at the age of 66. Wayne was born in Leavenworth, Kansas on April 10, 1955 the only child of Henry Joseph and Theresa Irene (Pierron) Marsch. He attended and graduated from Easton High School in 1973. Following graduation he worked at Great Western until he went to work for the Kansas Department of Transportation in August, 1979 until his death. He enjoyed and appreciated the simple things in life most of all his family, growing up and being raised on his parent's farm in Easton, and working (especially plowing the state roads in the winter and mowing along the highways in the summer).

He is survived by his wife of 37 years Sharon (Thompson) Marsch, his son Bryan Joseph Marsch, grandson Daniel Fink, granddaughter Ellie Bannerman,and many other family members and friends.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; his mother and father-in-law, Dorothy and James Thompson; a step son, Bobby Bannerman, Jr whom he loved as his own; and many other relatives.

He will be remembered as a great man; kind, gentle, and loving who will be missed so very much.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 31 at 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Belden Larkin Funeral Home, Leavenworth, Kansas. Funeral service will be Friday, April 1 at 11:00 am with Fr. Glenn Snow, O.Carm, officiating at the funeral home. A private burial will be immediately following at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
